-Are problem was that we had inflation and recession and there was also a bigger problem than that, and we have inflation and recession now.
-Other problems where that we where in a moral and spiritual crisis, we where also using 40% more energy than we are creating where not using what we have, and the OPEC has are hands tied. Most of this stuff is still happening today.
-Are American democracy was in trouble
-The tratageys that have accord over the years has helped with the inflation and the trouble that we are in, carter still thinks that we are like this
-Finnally he says that he are at a turning point and that we need to seize that point and turn it around for the better

-He saying that we used to be a people that wanted to grow as a nation and now we are starting to get lazy and not want to push forward

-Yes obamas plan is basicly the same as Carters because they both dont want to use oil for are maine energy source, there reasons for doing so may be differnt but the core principle is the same, there plans reveal that we are to independant on oil as are energy source.
